From Figma explorations to a full design system in one session.

Figma MCP
Claude Code

I had a Figma file. Nothing fancy, just early product explorations. A few colors I'd been drawn to, some typography choices that felt right, and a handful of components I'd built while figuring out the MVP. The kind of file every designer has, full of potential but not yet a system.
I wanted to scale it. Not just clean it up, but turn it into something my whole team could actually build with.
So I connected Claude Code to my Figma file using Figma MCP. It read everything: 26 color tokens, 10 typography styles, 8 components and used that as the foundation to build something much bigger. I didn't start from a template or someone else's system. Claude Code read my actual design decisions and scaled them.
The result is the Nest Design System. 20+ interactive components. Full color and typography documentation. Multimodal patterns. Cross-platform guidelines for iOS, Android, and web. A living documentation site my entire team can open in any browser, right now.
What would have taken a team weeks to build took a single focused session because the foundation was already there. It just needed the right tools to scale it.
It's still a work in progress.
